Shimizu S-Pulse 0-1 Reading

Reading came agonisingly close to claiming a place in the final of the Peace Cup after a one-sided 1-0 victory over Shimizu S-Pulse of Japan. The Royals will leave Korea with their heads held high after this performance and, with Seol Ki-Hyeon also playing 45 minutes, many more supporters.

Shane Long caused me to scream in agony in the office whilst listening to the commentary team of Reading World's Andy West and Simon Heggie. The Irish striker appeared to be put through by James Harper in stoppage time with an open goal beckoning - until the 'keeper appears from nowhere to deny him a goal. Thanks Andy!
