United v Royals in quotes

We pick out some of the quotes and comments from the media following the goalless draw at Old Trafford. If you've heard or seen any memorable quotes, post them here.

"To put things into perspective, two years ago we lost our opening fixture to Plymouth Argyle in the Championship. So to come here we were proud to get a point, we really were." Steve Coppell

"Credit to them, they battled, they wanted a result and they got one. I can understand anyone coming here and doing that." Sir Alex Ferguson

"There are three teams I would have paid to watch last season: Man Utd, Arsenal and Reading." Stan Collymore, The Mirror

"Hahnemann was in unbelievable form with a string of saves which left United totally frustrated." Red Issue United Fanzine

"In Marcus Hahnemann, United came up against an inspired goalkeeper who looked as if he would still be stopping shots if both sides were still out there today." David Mcdonnell, The Mirror

"The United guys didn't say too much to us as we came off the pitch at the end, while James Harper was the loudest in our changing-room afterwards. As for me, I was just happy to have played and made some saves. Not bad for a guy whose had his hand in plaster all summer." Marcus Hahnemann

"Only one Manchester United legend walked away from this deadlock with his head held high - seventies superstar and now Reading manager Steve Coppell." Manchester Evening News

"Skipper Graeme Murty led by example. He was like Ryan Giggs' Siamese twin as he followed his Reds opposite number everywhere, snuffing him out, while Marcus Hahnemann was simply unbeatable." David Anderson, The Mirror

"I went to kick the ball and I just saw his foot coming towards me." Patrice Evra

"The guys did great, and the way we battled against the best team in England, and one of the best in the world, shows how together we are, it's fantastic" Marcus Hahnemann, Reading World

Firstly apologies for nicking this from another site saw this and it made my blood boil
Reading did a brilliant defensive job at old trafford. However they should be deducted points for that exact reason, The lower teams are playing the top four hell
bent on putting 10 men behind the ball, reduce the size of the league to rid us of this dross or
punish them with a point deduction
What a prat.

I just thought it was a shame that all most of the papers/TV commentators could talk about was Shrek hurting his poor tootsies again.
As one wag was heard to say in the crowd behind me 'His last movie was rubbish anyway!'
