Blackburn 4-2 Reading
So that's six goals on their travels in the last two games, but nothing to show for it. Kevin Doyle headed in two late goals at Ewood Park as the Royals left Lancashire still looking for their first away Premier League win of the season.
Reading were undone by three goals in 14 first half minutes as boss Steve Coppell went with Dave Kitson as the lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation in his 200th game in charge. The introduction of Leroy Lita and Kevin Doyle in the second half seemed to stable the ship. The home side sat back but another McCarthy goal sandwiched between two headers from Doyle was enough to seal a comfortable victory. Full report to follow from our resident Mr. Croucher on his return.
