Kevin Doyle scored his first of the season as Reading bounced back from the memories of the Portsmouth match last week to earn a vital win and clean sheet against the Premier League's bottom club.

Skipper Graeme Murty sent in a cross from the right, Derby's Steve Howard got his head to the ball but could only flick it on to Doyle, who scored with a precise header.
