Oh Tony Tony...
Here at BTB we've made the odd gaffe over the years on the Madejski PA, music before goals, forgetting to switch the mic on for the Chairman, wrong goalscorer announced, the list goes on...
So we have some sympathy for poor Tony Henry, the English opera singer who sang both national anthems before the England Croatia match this week. Not that most of the capacity crowd inside Wembley would have noticed or indeed the millions watching on TV, but Tony made a gaffe that has now come to light.
It appears that he got his words mixed up during the Croatian anthem. Instead of singing 'Mila kuda si plania' ('You know my dear how we love your mountains'), it came out as 'Mila kura si planina' - roughly translated 'My dear, my penis is a mountain'.
The full story and facts behind this can be found over on the BBC website. Apparently the Croatians now want to adopt him as their mascot for Euro 2008.
Of course, here at BTB we've never been involved in any kind of international cock-ups ;-)
